SPRING 2015 FASHION SHOW
ON WEDNESDAY AUGUST 27th, WE HELD OUR SPRING 2015 FASHION SHOW DURING FASHION WEEK IN STOCKHOLM.
Cheap Monday's Spring 2015 Collection, Mindless Optimism, has a naïve, childish quality to it.
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Scribbled, doodly prints, ruchings, delicate bow straps mixed with a sporty look on satin interlock fabrics with puff sleeves and stencilled allover prints on denim and jerseys. Sporty drawstrings play an important part on woven, sweat and jersey. It's a juvenile, punk look with pink checked flannel shirts and skirts for women and a denim check on men. We mix a leaner, longer silhouette on shirts and sweats for men and a boxier, cropped on women. The jeans look is heavily bleached down with a strong back-to-denim feature in washes and fits. Mixed with biker cuts, zips and coatings the black and 90's blue blends together in a pinky, yet modern way. A pop out-theme is a super trashed denim look, contrasted by tinted pastel shades in over dyed jackets and bottoms. Focus denim styles for the spring 2015 Collection are shorts on women and men and 90's boyfriend fits for women. Spray-On, our skinniest and stretchiest jeans model ever, is now available for men as well.

Richard Hutchinson Talks Jeans, Andy Warhol and joining Cheap Monday design team
In early February, Richard Hutchinson joined Cheap Monday. He will be part of the brand's design team and be responsible for the men's collection. We asked him a few questions.
Hi Richard and welcome! What makes you excited about working at Cheap Monday?I decided to join after being approached by Ann-Sofie Back, the Creative Director of Cheap Monday. By working at Cheap Monday, I am expecting a creativity rush and a new interesting chapter in my role as a designer.
What is your position gonna be?
I will be Meanswear Designer at the head office in Stockholm.
What did you do before working at Cheap Monday?
I was the Designer at The Local Firm, a Stockholm-based brand of which I was the founder of for 6 years. Prior to that I was a Designer at Tiger of Sweden Jeans and Acne. From my experience I have learnt to be humble, be proud and work hard. There is not one way to design a collection. Although I have been working as a Designer for 14 years I still learn something new each season.
How many pairs of Cheap Monday jeans do you own?
One pair, I got them many years ago in Cheap Mondays early days. My favorite cut is high slim, recently I have been wearing super long sweaters so the jeans are perceived as a part of a layered look. I almost always wear jeans.
What do you have on your desk when you work?
Loads of coffee cups and pictures of my husband and our dog. Pen and paper and Creative Suite.
Favorite person living or dead?
Wow, difficult… Perhaps Andy Warhol? It’s Amazing that one person could generate so many new ideas that influenced so many. If I could meet him I would ask if I could hang out in The Factory with him, but then I would need a time machine first…
What is the best thing about working at Cheap Monday?
The team is amazing and the products are really fun to work with! The atmosphere in the studio is creative, ambitious and free-spirited. People in Sweden are used to new concepts and ideas and easily adapt to new ways of doing things. That makes work life enjoyable and interesting. Even though I have only been at Cheap Monday for a week, I already have a strong impression. The team are all strong individuals but also work well together as a group.
Thank you and good luck!
New Doom and last day of the Cheap Monday Pop-Up Store Stockholm

ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The fall 14 collection theme reflects its naïve and youthful direction, the positive spirit of the innocent in the face of a gloomy environment. The young glorify the end of the world, as destruction is a chance for change and revolution! The opposing youth are eager for change, and the conflict between the playful and serious has been an inspiration for the prints as well as the denim and collection.
Raw, heavy denim and inverted denim are prominent throughout the collection. Texture is important with crinkled jersey, fleece, leatherette, pleated chiffon and jersey as well as clear sequins on knits, flannel, denim and jersey. The shapes are straight and organic with rounded shoulders and funnel-necks. There is a clean seriousness to the the look with more sombre colours. Clashing with the solemn feel we play with a crazy crisp print with a matching gold crisp jewellery kit, playful fabrics such as faux fur, velvet, reflective fabric, fluffy knits and sparkly effects. A faux knot detail is used to shape the garments on denim dresses, blouses, jersey and sweat. A knotted reflective backpack and puffer bags to match the collection. The rough, smudgy and random versus the clean and crisp play an important role for the denim as well, where greys and blueblacks, rips and bleach clash with constructed crisp twills and square shapes on white coatings. A new mid-rise skinny fit is introduced in “Prime”, as well as a new denim jacket “Ikon”.

FALL 2014 FASHION SHOW
ON TUESDAY January 28th, WE HELD OUR FALL 2014 FASHION SHOW DURING MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK IN STOCKHOLM.
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Our Pre-Spring 2014 Collection is about making your mark. The aesthetic is rough, inspired by the concrete pavements, subways and brick walls that make up our urban wasteland.
We channel strong street culture energy and force the classic - check and leopard patterns - into raw, smudgy prints. Runny black ink and pink spray graffiti set the tone. Random flow pen scribbles create T-shirt, sweat and sweat pant graphics. A sprayed leopard print recurs on a mini denim skirt, jacket and jeans. The jersey program has been bombed with sprayed letters and skulls. The silhouette is loose with a strong street reference in boxy tops and wide, knitted sweaters. Bomber details on shirts, sweaters, contrast collars and cuffs add an active touch. Layered jersey dresses and a super short skirt gives a styled yet casual look with an attitude. The denim collection is focused with a new slubby super stretchy fabric in three classic shades of blue. A color story where the overdye effect is drifting between two shades brings brightness and vibrancy to the denim range. The grey and black leopard print runs through the denim line emphasizing the saturated scrawled look of the collection. A new, deep indigo denim is also featured in the rigid line, and is available as unwashed or in a light blue wash with a dirty tint.
